Govett-Brewster team helps deliver Parihaka children's event

With art activities, face painting, kai from local food trucks, dance workshops and competitions, a DJ, lucky dips and giveaways and even a film screening in Te Reo, the focus was on fun and creativity. 

It was a great teambuilding opportunity for the Gallery, while giving something meaningful back to the community and putting into practice all four of the Council’s Pono. With support from the Friends of the Gallery and local businesses, the team were able to give away school bags, pencil cases, book and stationery vouchers, and even a bike.

Despite some challenging wind, the event was a positive success, with Parihaka’s Maata Wharehoka declaring the day "exceptional, and the families from the Pā loved the day.”
