The Govett-Brewster Foundation welcomes Craigs Investment Partners as a new exhibition partner for the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery to become from 2023. The partnership initially focuses on the Gallery’s latest exhibition I Am And I Am Not by Pakistani contemporary artist Aisha Khalid.

“As one of New Zealand’s leading independent wealth management advisers, Craigs already steer the Foundation’s endowment fund, which provides ongoing support for Gallery’s acquisitions and special projects,” says Govett-Brewster Foundation Chair John Leuthart.

“Through this new association with the Gallery, Craigs have underscored their position as a significant member of the city community,” John says.

Khalid’s work is gaining international attention for her powerful challenges to established western narratives, and the exhibition builds on the Gallery’s commitment to showing conversation-provoking contemporary art from both Aotearoa and around the world.

“This is an important exhibition for the Gallery in terms of broadening perspectives and conversations around contemporary art and issues. We are thrilled that Craigs have come on board to support it,” said Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre director Dr Zara Stanhope.

Mark Butterworth, New Plymouth-based Craigs Investment Partners investment adviser, was excited by the partnership and the opportunity to team up with one of the city’s most well-known institutions.

“The cultural wealth of the Govett-Brewster and our own focus on inter-generational wealth creation is a great alignment. The Craigs team is really looking forward to working with the Govett-Brewster Foundation and the Gallery over this and future exhibitions to build on this remarkable story,” Mark said.

Aisha Khalid: I Am And I Am Not, supported by Exhibition Partner Craigs, is on show at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre from 1 April – 16 July 2023.
