Sound Journey

Get inspired by Len Lye’s exhibitions and Fibrous Soul discovering how sound can take us on a journey. Find out about taonga pūoro and use natural materials to generate sound experiments evoking places and emotions.

Record these experiments as visual art then in our studio groups perform these as sound compositions. Teachers BYO phone / ipad to video.

At school:

• Listen to recordings of taonga pūoro.
• Visit nearby taiao and write poems inspired by its sounds.
• Listen to music and waiata that give different emotions.
