A comedy drama

“Julia Joneßek does not physically conform to the usual ideal of a film star, and yet this young woman from Berlin makes a huge impression with an outstanding performance on the big screen.” – Thorsten Wahl, Berliner Zeitung

18 year old overweight Cindy lives in Berlin-Schönefeld, a bleak suburban area. Her life is colourless, without prospects. She gets bullied by her classmates and even her father calls her "Rosinenbomber". Of course there is also the little dog Werner and Cindy’s slightly eccentric childhood friend Danny. But Danny leaves Berlin to sign up for a military operation in Afghanistan. Against all odds Cindy proves to be a positive life-affi rming young woman and much to everyone’s surprise she wins the heart of married Finnish businessman, Leif. She starts to dream the impossible dream of a future together. Then Danny comes back. War and drugs have destroyed him. He now needs Cindy’s friendship more than ever, but she is put off by his aggressive behaviour. The beautiful acting of Julia Jendroßek as lovely Cindy makes this tragi-comic coming- of-age story definitely worth seeing.
