Collection Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, New Plymouth. Purchased from Monica Brewster Bequest with the assistance of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand in 1985.

According to ancient Greek mythology, Gaia is the goddess of the Earth, who gave birth to the sky, mountains and sea. She is the fertility goddess, the origin of all life on earth. Ross's goddess does not look exactly like a femal figure, but the curves suggest body imagery.
