Admission to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery is free, although visitor donations enable the Gallery to ensure the ongoing provision of dynamic programmes.

Situated in central New Plymouth on the corner of Queen and King Streets, the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery is the hub of New Plymouth's emerging cultural precinct. It is also close to hotels, shops, cafes and restaurants.
Cafe Govett-Brewster
Located adjacent to the Art and Design Shop in the foyer of Govett-Brewster on Queen Street is a contemporary café designed to both relax and inspire. Open from 8.00am – 5.00pm every day the café offers an eclectic mix of dining options from both its cabinet food and inspired a la carte menu for breakfast, brunch or lunch. An ideal location to obtain your early morning coffee-to-go with easy parking and excellent service, it is also the ideal spot for a leisurely lunch with friends in the private courtyard. The space lends itself well to evening private functions, with onsite caterers able to tailor menu and beverage service to suit the requirements of each client in an environment that is as innovative and welcoming as the food it provides.

Guided tours Public events in the Gallery, which often incorporate tours of a specific exhibition, are held every Sunday. Tours generally last an hour, are led by a variety of local and national artists, art experts and enthusiasts. Events are generally free of charge. For more information, check out What's On.
Groups can book a private guided tour by contacting the Gallery on 64-6-759-6060 or via e-mail. All group visits must be booked in advance.
Bags All backpacks, umbrellas and cloaks can be stored securely at the front desk for the duration of your visit to the Gallery.
Food Food and drink are not permitted in the Gallery.
