Len Lye  t-shirts - Individual Happiness Now

Make a stand for Individual Happiness Now (IHN), Len Lye’s home-grown philosophy of art, politics and life. Conceived in the midst of World War II, the three words that make up IHN represent positive, interconnected values that Lye believed could form the basis of a humane society, transcending nationalism, political ideology and religious difference. Or in Lye’s words:

Individuality is the rock of happiness.
Happiness is the vehicle of individuality.
Now is the bump of both.

Of course, every utopian philosopher needs a t-shirt. With text scanned directly from the title page of Lye’s 1941 manuscript, it says it all with style and comfort: Individual Happiness Now.

Len Lye: Composing Motion (The sound of tangible motion sculpture) CD
This CD makes available for the first time modern stereo recordings of the sounds of Len Lye’s kinetic sculptures and provides an introduction to Lye’s fascinating sound world.
“Sound-crazy people vibrate to sound and this disc is for them; it’s got some of the sharpest astringent zings of sound that ever cut the air, maybe because it’s all made with doctor’s blade steel, some of it the sharpest…. All I know is that when it’s set up in motorized vibrating and shaking devices and struck with strikers, it cuts a new sound groove.” (Len Lye, from an introduction to a proposed LP of Lye’s sculptures)
