Join artists Tessa Laird and Catherine Macdonald for a drawing workshop and conversation about drawing processes.

In this practical workshop participants will explore a range of drawing techniques including mark making, contour and negative space.

Basic drawing materials will be provided at the workshop or bring your own.

Tessa Laird's work Points of Agreement 2011 is part of the Govett-Brewster exhibition Old Genes: Artists reading Len Lye.

Tessa is a lecturer at the Manukau Institute of Technology and is currently studying towards her doctorate.

Whanganui-based artist Catherine Macdonald's work will be in the Govett-Brewster's Open Window gallery on Queen St from 25 February - 17 June 2012. Catherine will create a growing, cumulative drawing directly on the walls of the exhibition space.

Catherine graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Printmaking from Wanganui Regional Polytechnic.
