The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery is a pathfinder,
an innovator and a catalyst for contemporary art and ideas. This vision extends to its commitment to increasing access to its permanent collection through its lending policy as well increasing the knowledge and appreciation of contemporary art within New Zealand.

You may wish to borrow works from the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery Collection, therefore we recommend that you make an initial formal request in writing to the Director, Rhana Devenport. Formal requests to borrow work should be submitted as
early as possible to allow sufficient time for the request to be fully considered and for the relevant condition reports to be carried out. The request should clearly outline the artist, the title of the work and a full case for the importance and relevance of the exhibition and why the requested works are sought.

The lending of works is entirely at the discretion of the Govett-Brewster. Fragile works or works unsuitable for transportation will not be lent and all requests will be considered in relation to the Govett-Brewster's own exhibition and display commitments. All loans from the Govett-Brewster are subject to strict terms and conditions.
